This site is still under heavy construction. DNS was faster than I thought... why do they say 24-72 hours when they actually mean 2 hours? Commentstodd sharp wrote on 01/11/08 12:07 PM Wow pretty pimp looking blog! Nice CFWindow comment form!!Anyhow...Google sent me here...But since I don't see a contact form (probably because it's still under construction) I wanted to point you to Dan Switzer per our conversation in Cleveland yesterday about the Columbus UG. Here's Dan's site - http://blog.pengoworks.com/page.cfm/about Thanks again for coming out yesterday! Andy Allan wrote on 02/02/08 3:23 PM Well, after speaking to my parents, they wouldn't tell me how I got here but after discussing things with a few friends over a large quantity of beer, it was decided "Bob" sent me.I need to stop watching Twin Peaks. marc esher wrote on 02/03/08 6:05 PM Coldfusionbloggers.org sent me here!Bind wrote on 02/04/08 4:19 AM To understand why, you need to understand how dns works. Name lookups may be cached on the client side with a ttl>the one given by the server (and even dns servers might ignore your configuration and use their own ttl). To speed up migration, you usually set a very low ttl for some time (>=old ttl) prior to changing the ip.Lance wrote on 02/05/08 8:37 PM Ben Forta sent me here! Nice blog, Adam! A lot of ISPs have put various magic in place to get DNS propogated faster. I've yet to understand fully how it works, but the last couple DNS changes I've had to make have all gone through within a few hours - at least from every connection I've checked.
