ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder Beta Available

By now the ColdFusion blogosphere is buzzing with the news of two major milestones for the ColdFusion Community. First and foremost, the server they said could already do everything just learned a few more tricks. ColdFusion 9 offers advanced functionality, but its simplistic elegance makes it accessible to all level of developers. Not to be overshadowed, we also released the first public preview of ColdFusion Builder. For 14 years ColdFusion defined Rapid Application Development through its built-in services and language. Moving forward we hope to re-define RAD and push developer productivity to the next level with the combination of ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder.

Rather than highlight features and get into the technical details, I just want to say how honored I am to be part of the team who made these releases possible. The ColdFusion engineering team defied odds to bring these products to you. When Adobe and the world faced cutbacks and layoffs, the ColdFusion team worked late nights and weekends to make ColdFusion Builder a reality. When a sane team would have delayed launching a new product, we refused to let the community down. Building a 1.0 product is one of the toughest challenges in software, especially when the vision exceeds your release schedule. I'm pleased to say that we've exceeded our original goals and I hope ColdFusion Builder exceeds your expectations.

Enjoy.

You and the team rock! CF 9, and Builder, both look fantastic. The server is a significant upgrade, and it's great to have an (official) IDE within the community.
